Remembering murder victim on his birthday

A mother grieving for a murdered son is sending helium filled balloons towards the heavens to mark his birthday.
Steffi Stehwien’s son Aaron was murdered three years ago this month.
Aaron Shoulders was beaten and stabbed to death outside a Calgary nightclub and his killer has never been caught.
His mother is releasing balloons in memory of her son on what would have been his 21st birthday.
“Started a new family tradition. We have a little celebration cause he is with us in our hearts. We write messages on helium balloons and send them up to Aaron,” said Steffi Stehwien, Aarron’s mother.
Stehwier plans on holding a walk for justice with other families touched by violence in September.
